Clint Ingram (3, OLB)

Ingram is a pure ball of energy.  He plays 100% all the time.  He’s not very instinctive, but he hits like a ton of bricks.  He also can run with any back or tight end (he runs a 4.5 40).  He has the physical talent to start from day one, if the mental part of the game follows….he could be an impact player.

Ingram played in 25 games his last two years at Oklahoma (23 starts) and made 111 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, seven sacks, broke up 7 passes and had five interceptions.

Maurice Drew (2, RB)

Maurice Drew was the second round pick in this years’ draft for the Jags.  Drew is a small guy (5′6″, 205) but he’s hard to tackle with the low center of gravity he runs with.  Drew projects to be more of a third-down back/kick-returner type player, but only time will tell.  Drew played in 36 games at UCLA (22 starts) and rushed for 2,503 yards (5.2 ypc) and 26 TDs.  He also caught 64 passes for 819 yards with 7 TDs.

Mercedes Lewis (1, TE)

Mercedes Lewis is simply put, a good pass-catching tight-end.  Lewis has long arms and good size (6′5″, 258 pounds) and runs well for his size (4.7 40).  He also has good body control and can make the first tackler miss him in the open field.  Lewis could emerge as Byron Leftwich’s security blanket.

Lewis is soft when blocking and other teams will find that out quickly.  That doesn’t bode well for “Fragile” Fred Taylor running sweeps to his side.

Lewis played in 50 games at UCLA and caught 126 passes for 1,571 yards with 21 TD catches.  Lewis could be a great red-zone target for the Jags.
