Jaguars lose a heartbreaker 27-24 to Bills
David Garrard threw a 3-yard TD pass to Matt Jones to tie the game with the Bills at 24-24 with 28 seconds left in the game. The Bills then got the ball close enough to kick a 42-yard game-winning field-goal as time expired!
David Garrard had a solid game as he completed 16 of 22 passes for 132 yards and 2 TDs. He also carried the ball 5 times for 28 yards (5.6 ypc). Fred Taylor was also outstanding as he carried the ball 22 times for 101 yards (4.6 ypc). Maurice Drew also had a fine game with 8 carries for 78 yards (9.8 ypc) and a TD. Drew also caught 5 passes for 47 yards. George Wrighster (3 rec, 33 yards) and Reggie Williams (4 rec, 31 yards) helped out in the passing game. Matt Jones and rookie TE Mercedes Lewis each caught TD passes.
The defense played well as they only allowed the Bills to rush for 72 yards on 23 carries (3.1 ypc). The Bills completed 21 of 28 passes for 169 net yards thru the air. The Jags did have a special teams breakdown as Roscoe Parrish returned a punt 82 yards for a TD!
This loss will sting for awhile as the Jags fall to 6-5 on the season.
